 Employment Specialist PHYSICAL REQIUREMENTS: This job will require a person who has excellent oral and written communication skills and computer experience. He or she must display the ability to work professionally with the public and other agencies as well as the LCDSNB staff and consumers. They should have good business skills that would enable them to start, develop, and operate employment programs for consumers with disabilities. This will also include the management of financial budgets as they relate to employment opportunities for consumers of the LCDSNB.  This person needs to be able to manage and maintain good quality control of all work services. This person should be able do job coaching and job placement in the community.  He or she must be able to complete all the required paperwork for employment services such as: plans, assessments, billing, etc. It will be a must for this person to be able to supervise and direct other staff in reaching the “overall” employment goals of the LCDSNB, and coordinate consumer transportation services to job sites. He or she must be able to work in different environments and may be exposed to weather elements to include, but not limited to, direct sunlight, rain, cold and heat.  Under general supervision of the Day Services Director this position procures work opportunities for all consumers in need of employment to include: individual placements, workshop contracts, enclaves and mobile work crews. He or she will manage the overall “consumer” employment services for LCDSNB. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  This person should have a high school degree, preferably an associates degree in human services or business. This person should also have at least 2 years of human service experience; one year of the two should be working with programs serving people with disabilities and heat. Schedule – Primarily weekdays, however, may require weekend and variable shifts depending on job placement training.
